Rose Marie Spratling, 80, of Beaver Falls, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2015, in the Samaritan Hospice unit of the Heritage Valley Hospital, Beaver, PA.
Born April 26, 1935, in Midland, PA, to the late George and Ruth (Nichols) Crute. She was raised in Detroit, MI, by her mother and stepfather, the late Philip Gee.
Momma Rose retired after working 30 years as a Ward Clerk at Kingswood Hospital in Ferndale, MI. She had a passion for life and her children. Momma Rose was the epitome of what we define as a strong, confident woman.
We will miss her laughter, love and that special shoulder that we could all lean on. Momma Rose was our strength, and we are strong because of her.
Surviving are her children, Gail, Larry (Theresa), Phyllis (Toots), Johnny (Lori) and Chris.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Spratling, and a very special daughter, Jennifer, and a granddaughter, Corrie.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, DeSean, Shawnda (Michael ), Jamie, Renell, David, Jenea, Demarco, Christopher, Jr. and Rasheed; great-grandchildren, Shawndrea, Shawnea, Craig, Nelly, Michai, Cameron, and Brandin; great-great grandchildren, Nayonna, Brooklynn, DreShan, Aaliyah, Kalayah, and Malasia. Momma Rose is also survived by her extended Crute family which includes two brothers and six sisters, George, Jr., William, Delores, Doris, Henrietta, Terri, Lynn, and Denny, and a host of other relatives.
Private services were held in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com.
The family would like to thank the Good Samaritan Hospice nurses and staff for the care of Momma Rose.
Private interment will be held in the Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, PA.
