Rosemarie (Brasco) Shutey, 82, of Fallston, passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, March 14, 2015 while under the compassionate care of family and the staff of Mother Teresa Hospice.

Born October 7, 1932 in Midland, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Shaffo) Brasco. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas L. Shutey for 50 years. She was a graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor Degree in Education and was a retired teacher of New Brighton High School where she taught for 25 years. She was an active member of Holy Family Parish of New Brighton where she was on the Pastoral Council, Eucharistic Minister, Holy Family Gold, money counter, bingo worker, Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the Century Club and Public School Employees Retirement System. She was involved with Circle of Friends and a member of her bridge club.

Rosemarie will always be remembered by those who loved her as a women that loved her family and friends. She was a sharp dresser that enjoyed to travel, go to plays and movies, reading and loved to dance. One of her proudest accomplishments was in 1999 the Diocese of Pittsburgh honored her with Manifesting the Kingdom Award.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Brasco.

Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Paul Hooks, Slovak, AR; Annamarie and Dan Mellett, Harrisburg, and Marlene and Tim Moran, Brighton Twp.; one son, Nicholas Shutey, Beloit, OH; two grandchildren, Nicole Mellett and Christopher Hooks; one brother, Joseph Brasco, Midland; one sister, Dorothy Scarcella, Cannonsburg, and several nieces, nephews and their families.

Friends will be received Monday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where prayer will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Kredel officiating.

Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum.
The family would like to thank everyone that sent a card, flowers or said a prayer for Rose. Those acts of kindness meant so very much to her. We know she would say "God to bless each one of you."
