Ruth E. (Dewhirst) Krachinsky

Ruth E. Krachinsky, 89, of New Brighton , formerly of Koppel, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011 , at Heritage Valley , Beaver.

Bo rn April 16, 1922 , in New Brighton , PA , she was the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Rauscher) Dewhirst. Ruth was a member of the New Brighton United Methodist Church , New Brighton . She retired from Ellwood City Knitting Mill, was a nurses' aide for Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center , and was owner of Jim's Nursery on Route 18 with her husband, Jim Krachinsky. Ruth met a lot of friends in her ventures of playing bingo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry "Jim" Krachinsky; a son, Harry "Jocko" Krachinsky Jr.; a granddaughter, Yvonne, and nine brothers and sisters.

Surviving are three daughters and their spouses, Nancy and Jim Young, Ruth Ann Keister, and Debbie and Ron Huddy; ten grandchildren, Brian and Scott Campbell, FL, Jim Keister, CA, Mike and Lorie Keister, New Galilee, John and Kay Lyn Keister, Edinburg, Bill and Mary Keister, NY, Cindy and Bo b Krut Jr, Fombell, Terry and Jim Scobie, Eastvale, Robert Young, New Brighton, and Sandy and Paul Stilp, Murfreesboro, TN; eighteen great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave. , New Brighton.

Ruth will lie in state Tuesday at the New Brighton United Methodist Church from 10 until time of service at 11 a.m. Her pastor, Rev. Rita Platt-Anderson will officiate.

Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park , Daugherty Township .
