Ruth L. Stranger
Ruth L. Stranger, 85 of Daugherty Twp, formerly of Duquesne, Pa passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday January 19, 2012.
Born April 30, 1926 in McKeesport, Pa she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Matilda (Kless) Harper. Ruth was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Duquesne where she was a member of the choir. She also belong to the Eastern Star and White Shrine. Ruth loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, gardening, and her dog Midnight.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Stranger, a brother, Albert Harper, a sister, Elsie McGrail, and a nephew, Roy Harper.
Surviving are her two daughters and sons in law; Donna and John Blyth, Palatine, Il, Debbie and Dan Spik, Daugherty Twp, two granddaughters, Quinn Blyth and Pedro Perez, Dawn Walker and her husband Paul, one grandson, John Blyth Jr. and his wife Rebecca, three great grandchildren, Lillianna and Bianca Perez, and John Walker, a nephew Pat McGrail and family, a niece, Shirley Harper and family.
Friends will be received Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton, jjsprattfh.com. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, Pastor James Hockenberry, officiating.
Family and friends will meet for the Interment at 1:30 PM Saturday at McKeesport-Versailles Cemetery, McKeesport, Pa.
