Ruth L. (Shaver) McDonald

Ruth L. McDonald, 85, of New Brighton, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Heritage Valley, Beaver.

Born September 17, 1927, in Lumberport, WV, she was the daughter of the late J. Guy and Emise Mae (Stires) Shaver. Ruth previously worked for McGuire Memorial and New Brighton Area School District where she was a custodian. Ruth loved all her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard McDonald; two sons, Michael and Howard Jr.; a daughter, Aletia Alexander; a brother, Kenneth Shaver; a brother-in-law, Burt Enos, and her stepmother, Eleanor Burns Shaver.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dennis and Maria McDonald, Rochester; Patrick and Barbara McDonald, New Brighton, and Samuel McDonald, Hollywood, FL; two daughters and a brother-in-law, Linda Enos, New Castle, and Jennifer and John G. Martino, New Castle; son-in-law, Patrick Alexander, New Brighton; seventeen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Shaver and J. Guy Shaver Jr, both of Lumberport, WV; a stepsister, Lorraine Richards, Lumberport, WV, and several nieces, nephews, and their families.

Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where a service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Josh Mackenstein will officiate.

Private interment will follow in Grove Cemetery, New Brighton.
