Shirley P. Amistade

Shirley P. Amistade, 83 years old, passed away peacefully at home after a long-fought battle with several cancers on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Gerald Amistade; her parents, Elsa Mae and Carl Henry Philipp; her siblings, David, Roger, Frieda and Bertha.

Shirley is survived by her brothers and sisters, Cora (Bill) Hilberg, Lillian (twin) Mittner, Luther (Leatha) Philipp, Richard Philipp, Lois Philipp, Ernest (Donna) Philipp, and Brenda Philipp.  She was employed for 45 years at Columbia Gas of PA and after retirement, she and Gerry traveled extensively.  She enjoyed trying out new recipes and baking for family and friends, especially at Christmas time.  Playing organ music was a soothing pastime that she had taught herself.  We all enjoyed her mini recitals.  Shirley also had a passion for writing poetry of every day blessings and was a member and was a member and acknowledged by the International Post Society.  Her life was full and Shirley is now in the heavenly arms of her Master and Savior.

Friends will be received Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. in J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton.  Pastor Gary Hilton, celebrant.

Private interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Twp.
