Stefany (Przybysz) Ruffalo, 97, of New Brighton, passed away Saturday January 23, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hopsice Beaver after a brief illness.
Born June 23, 1918 in Beaver Falls a daughter of the late Stanley and Frances Przybysz and the last of 6 siblings. Her parents were Polish immigrants and Stefany proudly continued Polish traditions in her home. She gathered her family together in her home for Swieconka every Easter, and offered Oplatek at Christmas and sang “Wesolych swiat bozego narodzenia.” She also remembered Dyngus Day. She was an exceptional mother and grandmother (Grammy). Also a wonderful home maker who always keep her home in order and decorated for each season. She also loved her front porch swing and flower display each summer. Stefany enjoyed bargin shopping, yard sales, slots at Mountaineer Casino, and bingo with her Circle of Friends. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, New Brighton.
She was preceded in passing by her 5 brothers and their wives. Stanley(Mary), Henry(Jane), Walter(Lucy), Charles(Genevive) and Chester(Helen). She was also predeceased be her youngest child and only son Anthony Jr. in 2000 and most recently by her eldest daughter Antoinette in December 2015. She is now reunited with her husband Anthony Ruffalo Sr., the love of her life, who passed in 2001. They shared 58 happy years together.
Stefany was lovingly tended to and is survived by her daughters Joan(Carl)SAchweiger, Coraopolis, Margaret Ruffalo(Frank Fischer), New Brighton, Nancy(Mike)Osman, New Brighton, and son-in-law Rick Stroemple, Staunton, VA, her grandchildren Michelle Scarlino, Staunton, VA, Jeanette(Scott)Milks, Bern, NC, Bernadette Dourlain, Moon Twp., Dr. Carl(Stacey)Schweiger, Round Rock, TX, Dr. Matthew(Lacy)Osman-Ruffalo, Pittsburgh, Brent Stoemple, Brian (Beth)Stroemple and Cory Herndon all of Staunton, VA, her 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton, where prayer will be held Wednesday at 9:30am followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10am in Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Tom Kredel officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Jospeh Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
