Sylvia A. (Groover) Karcesky

Sylvia A. Karcesky, 86, of North Sewickley, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2025, in Concordia at Villa St Joseph, Baden.

Born May 28, 1939, in Greenville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Esther (White) Groover. She was a long-time waitress at the Wooden Angel. She was one of a kind, full of spunk, and always kept everyone on their toes. She believed in living life to its fullest, and did so by trying new things, taking risks, finding joy in the small things. She found joy in baking, art, crafts, and bingo, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends. She loved her family more than anything.

Surviving Sylvia is her children, Jody (Kevin) Jennings, Kevin Karcesky, Jan (Paul McCarty Jr.) Riffle, and Brian (Jennifer) Karcesky, grandchildren, Jarret McCary, Elisia Majors (Brian), Lauren Grinnen (Adam), Natasha Haught (Howie), Josh Bosley (April), Bill Hiler (Michelle), Ashley Haney (Brian), Jesica Campbell (Cory), Dylan Riffle (Lara), Dalton Riffle (Danielle), Madison Karcesky and Rylie Karcesky, and her siblings, Anna Reimold, Debbie Sok, and Dave Groover.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Paul, Jim, and Tom Groover.

Friends will be welcomed Friday, June 6, 2025, from 4pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 7pm, in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3 rd Ave. New Brighton, with Pastor Gary Hilton officiating.
