Thelma (Jackson) Locy, 81, of New Brighton, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Rochester Manor.
She was born August 18, 1935, in New Brighton, a daughter of the late William H. and Roberta (Hardy) Jackson. She was retired from the Community College of Beaver County, where she taught in the nursing program. Thelma spent many years serving as a missionary in South America. She attended St. Paul's Bible College, Minnesota, Nyack College, New York, Duquesne and Penn State. She was a member of the Marion Hill Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael "Mix" Jackson; an infant brother, William; her sister-in-law, Marcella Jackson; great nephew, Pearce Jackson; great-great nephew, Cyrus Cleckley, and great-great niece, Kendell Fritzus.
Surviving are one sister, Darlene May Boyce-Jackson, Brighton Twp.; three nieces, Monica Fritzus, Michelle Jackson and Melissa (Reese) Jackson, all of New Brighton; one nephew, Matthew Jackson, Mason, Ohio, and great nieces and nephews, Tyler, Zachary, Kylee, Cassandra, Matthew, Taylor, Payne, Lalita and LaRae.
Friends will be received Monday from 5 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, with Pastor James Krouse officiating.
Private interment will take place in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
