Theodore Kordecki
Theodore Kordecki, 94, of New Brighton, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospice Beaver.
Born December 12, 1921 in Ambridge, a son of the late Anthony and Helen (Mianowski) Kordecki. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army. He had worked for the former Bethlehem Steel and retired from the former B&W Steel Products where he was an inspector. Ted enjoyed spending time at the mall talking with employees and customers, he loved polka, jitterbug or any dancing and loved playing bingo. The thing he loved the most was spending time with his family. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church of New Brighton.
Surviving are his wife, Helen (Babal) Kordecki; two sons and daughters-in-law, Theodore and Beverly Kordecki Jr., East Palestine, OH, and Tony and Terry Kordecki, New Brighton; one daughter, Christine Kordecki-Romano, Ellwood City; six grandchildren, Kathy Jo (Rick) Dyke, Ted (Michelle) Kordecki II, Tony (Chelsea) Kordecki Jr., Todd (Leah) Kordecki, R.J. (Brittney) Romano, and Amy (Perry) Dubois; six great-grandchildren, Kayla, Aaryn, Alyssa, Sasha, P.J., Trent and Colby; one great-great-granddaughter, Paislee; three step great-great-grandchildren, Summer, Autumn and Kole, and several nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Raymond and two sisters, Cecilia Ford and Helen Stasowski.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where prayer will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Tom Kredel officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
