Thecla A. 'Tillie' Shields
Tillie Shields, 89, of New Brighton, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.
Born May 17, 1926, in Donora, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Thecla (Vagalia) Lekic. Tillie retired from Friendship Ridge as a nurse's aide after 20 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Shields, and a son, Edward J. Shields.
Surviving are five sons, David Lee, William T., Richard A., Michael S. and Scott B. Shields, all of New Brighton; two daughters, Debra Javens, New Brighton, and Denise Balmer, Beaver Falls; 20 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016, at 6 p.m. in the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 630 3rd Ave., Beaver Falls, Pa.
