Valerie A. Matotek

Valerie A. Matotek, 74, passed away Saturday April 11, 2026, in Beaver Valley Heatlthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on June 19, 1951 in Beaver Falls, PA, she was the daughter to the late Frank and Rena (Revelant) Davis. Valerie devoted her life to shaping young minds as a dedicated teacher at Blackhawk Elementary School District, where she spent her entire career before retiring. She was known for her patience, kindness, and unwavering commitment to her students, leaving a lasting impact on generations of children.

Beyond the classroom, Valerie had a deep love for travel, always seeking new places, experiences, and memories. Whether near or far, she found joy in exploring the world and embracing all it had to offer.

Valerie leaves behind her loving husband, Stephen Matotek; son, James (Samantha) Gugliardo, of New Brighton, PA; sister, Nancy Owens, of Cranberry, PA; brother, Frank (Diane) Davis, of Denton, TX; brother and sister in-laws, Mike (Juanita) Matotek, of Beaver Falls, PA, Bob Matotek, of Ogden, UT, Joe (Jeanne) Matotek, of Ellicott, Maryland, and Dan (Louise) Matotek, of Murraysville, PA; numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Also survived by her dog “Buddy.”

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, David Davis and brother-in-law, Tom Matotek.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3rd Ave, New Brighton, PA, 15066. Prayers will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 10:30 am in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Our Lady of the Vally Parish, Holy Family Church, New Brighton, PA.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
