Virginia Mae (Walker) Edmunds
Virginia Mae (Walker) Edmunds, 88, of Rochester, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Villa St. Joseph, Baden.
Born August 21, 1926 in Rochester, she was a daughter the late Wilson and Leona (Bauchler) Walker. Best mother ever, she was a dedicated homemaker to her late husband and eight children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edmunds Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Edmunds; a brother, Charles Walker, and sisters, Leona Texter and Ruth Bills.
Surviving are her eight children, Linda (Emmett) Baker, Rochester; Carole Edmunds, Rochester; Robert (Dee Dee) Edmunds Jr., Mattawan, MI; William Edmunds, Hanover Twp.; Terry (Gary) Miller, Calcutta, OH; Diane (Kurt) Verrico, Rochester; Ronald (Kris) Edmunds, Grand Junction, CO, and Pamela (Frank) Dodson, Brighton Twp.; seventeen grandchildren, Emmett Jr., Robert, Michael, Scott, Ross, Cami, Brandon, Jessica, Robbie, William Jr., Elizabeth, Jacob, Devon, Jared, Amanda, Frank Jr. and Savanah; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marion Hemphill, Baden, and Martha Fairley, Beaver, and several nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where funeral service will be held Friday at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Bill Blume, of Faith to Faith Ministries, officiating.
Private interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Freedom.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of the Carondote Unit at Villa St. Joseph for their wonderful and compassionate care given to their mother.
