Vivian J. Banyas

Vivian J. Banyas, 83 of New Brighton passed away Tuesday September 6, 2011 at her residence. Born July 12, 1928 in New Brighton, she is the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Kyser) Ziegel. Vivian was a member of the former Fifth Ave United Methodist Church, New Brighton. She graduated from Geneva College with a Business Degree and then went on to get her Masters in Education from Slippery Rock University. Vivian was a teacher for North Hill School District where she aught Business. She and her late husband, John E. Banyas, Sr loved to travel.

In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Banyas Sr, and a niece Susan Mooney.

Surviving are one son, John E. Banyas Jr. and Mary Ann, Freedom, two daughters; Linda Grossetti Matotek and Thomas, New Brighton, Debra Helicke, Beaver, one sister, Shirley Pritchard, Hopewell, six grandchildren, Stephen, Maura, and Marilyn Banyas, Thomas J. (Angel) Grossetti, Marc A. Grossetti, thirteen great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and their families.

Private services were held Thursday September 8, 2011 in the J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton, Pa 15066.

Private burial was in Grove Cemetery, New Brighton.
