Walter J. Gabrich, 94, of Conway, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015, in Villa St. Joseph, Baden.

Born February 21, 1921, in Butler, PA, he is the son of the late Nick and Anna (Whitnoskie) Gabrich.  Walter was retired from Dravo Corp in Neville Island where he was a metal fabricator.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded the Victory Medal with three Bronze stars.  He then served in the U.S.A.F.  Walter was a member of the Chippewa VFW #5945 and a member of Our Lady of Peace, Conway.  He liked to play guitar, sing, and he cut hair in the Beaver County area for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Paul Gabrich; two brothers, Jim and Sylvester Gabrich, and a sister, Anna Stubler.

Surviving are his loving wife of 66 years, Barbara (Borkovich) Gabrich; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Nick Gabrich, Lancaster, OH, and Greg (Peggy) Gabrich, Baden; a grandson, Erik Gabrich, and several nieces, nephews and their families.

Friends will be received Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where a blessing service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.

Private interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Twp.

The Beaver County Special Unit will meet in the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. for full military honors.
