William L. 'Bill' Lash

William L. "Bill" Lash, 79, of Daugherty Twp., passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Providence Care Center, Beaver Falls, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

Born March 9, 1935 in Beaver Falls, a son of the late William R. and Violet (Welsh) Lash, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1957 to 1963 and was retired from the former B&W Tubular Steel Co. He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Brighton and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Margaret (Campbell) Lash; one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Carl Reina, Daugherty Twp.; two grandsons and their girlfriends, Ed Reina and Tabitha Himes, and Bobby Reina and Kiersten Manor, at home; one great-grandson, Paxton Reina at home; three sisters, Nellie (Raymond) Valli, Chippewa Twp.; Margie Smith and Thelma Quest, both of Beaver Falls; a sister-in-law, Chong Lash, CA, and several nieces nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Lash; a sister-in-law, Vivian Fugler, and two brothers-in-law, Bud Quest and George Smith.

Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com. On Tuesday friends will be received at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 10th Avenue, New Brighton, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Frank Kantz officiating.

Private interment will take place in Beaver Falls Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be made in his name to one of these charities: Meals on Wheels, 393 Adams St., Rochester, PA 15074; Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Rd., Aliquippa, PA 15001 or Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 10th Avenue, New Brighton, PA 15066.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Providence Care Center, especially those on 2A for the wonderful care given to their loved one.
