William A. Evans, Jr.

William A. Evans Jr., 61, of Freedom passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 at his home.

Born December 23, 1949 in Rochester , a son of the late Mary Alice (Hawk) Evans, Bill was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Navy and was retired from the former General Alloy of Rochester .

Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Landa (Cox) Evans, three sons and two daughters-in-law Michael and Melissa Evans, Bethel Park, Joseph and Carrie Evans, Rochester, Thomas Evans, Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts; four step-children, Tammy Hayhurst, Wampum, Sandra (Martin) Hutchison, New Brighton, Thomas Stewart, New Waterford, OH, Leroy (Deena) Stewart, New Sewickley Twp., many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Benjiman and Karen Evans, Brant and Cheri Evans, all of Freedom, several nieces, nephews and their families.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave. , New Brighton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.

Interment will take place in the veterans section of the Beaver Falls Cemetery .
