William A. 'Tuff' Kendrew

William A "Tuff" Kendrew, 89, of Rochester, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016, at his home.
Born April 15, 1926, in New Brighton, a son of the late Smith and Iva (Smith) Kendrew. He was a life member of the Beaver Valley Rifle and Pistol Club and the American Legion Post #19, New Brighton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Margaret (Hogan) Kendrew in August 2009; a half-brother, Orville Justine Stout; a half-sister, Corda Ellen Kendrew; three brothers, Donald Edward Kendrew, Elmer Edgar Kendrew and John Benjamin Kendrew, and four sisters, Ada Lillian Fash, Freda Bessie Dishler, Edith Kathleen Lawrence and Mamie Rozilla Fash.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen Kendrew and Kimberly J. (Doug) Wory, all of Rochester; five grandchildren, Kate Margaret (Mitch Fishman) Kendrew, Seattle, WA; Joshua Todd (Diadra) Wory, North Sewickley Twp.; Jeremiah Kendrew (Jennifer Polkabla) Wory, Harmony Twp.; Jesse Nathaniel (Samantha Holman) Wory, Georgetown, and Kelsey Jo (Michael) Seese, Seneca Falls, NY; two great-granddaughters, Lydia Jo and Kayleigh Grace Wory, and several nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until till time of funeral service at 11 a.m. with Mike Seese officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Cecilia Catholic Cemetery, Rochester.
