It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Beau James Kester. His life was well lived, he was well loved, and will be greatly missed by many! The Lord called him home peacefully with his family by his side, on Friday, May 7, 2021 in his 77th year.
This brave, loving, witty, and wonderful man has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be missed immensely by his wife and best friend of 56+ years, Hope (Hopple) Kester, and his children Shawn Renee Bowser (Shawn Paul), and Erik Kester (Tammy).
Family was the pivotal essence of Beau's life and he was a major presence. He was honored to be the patriarch of our close-knit family. He cherished his role as a proud grandfather to Elijah Bowser, Christiana Bowser, and Sadie Kester.
Beau spent his life as a hardworking, dedicated, faithful, and loving man.
He enjoyed a long-standing, intimate relationship with our Lord, remaining steadfast and blessed in his faith to his dying breath.
As an English teacher, Beau impacted the lives of over 6,500 students during his 52+ years of collective teaching at New Brighton High School and various Colleges. He served as yearbook advisor for 31 years, Senior class sponsor, and After Prom coordinator. Previously he earned professional licenses in real estate and annuities, working for various agencies in the area, and was the secretary of the New Brighton Golf League. An avid Steeler fan, Beau was a season ticket holder for over 47 years. He served on the church board and lead a men's ministry group. Beau loved life and enjoyed dates with Hope to the theater, disco & country line dancing, golf, tennis, and loved his church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Hugh (Rex) Kester and Viola Hazel (Hartzell) Kester.
The family would like to thank all the health care professionals for their extensive care, expertise, and support as Beau courageously battled Multiple Myeloma for 11 years.
Our Beau will be forever remembered for his sense of humor, beautiful smile, gentle eyes, caring heart, loving embrace, and unconditional love. Although our hearts are heavy, we celebrate his precious life and have great comfort knowing he is in Heaven as his faith finally becomes sight.
All are welcome for visitation at J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3rd Ave, New Brighton, PA 15066, on Thursday 5/13/21 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
Friends will be received on Friday 5/14/21 from 10:00am until the time of Beau's Celebration of Life service at 11:00am at the New Brighton Free Methodist Church 925 11th Street, New Brighton, PA 15066, with Pastor Steve Forsythe officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations made to the New Brighton Free Methodist Church to further God's work.
