Bernadette Guyer Shuflay, 95, of New Brighton, passed away on June 28, 2023.
Born January 1, 1928 in Pittsburgh. Daughter of the late John and Helen Guyer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Joe Guyer, sisters, Dorothy DeNoble, Helen Mauthe, and her twin sister, Phyllis Miller.
Surviving is her brother John Guyer, Riverside, CA. And many dear nieces and nephews.
Bea graduated from Ambridge High school in 1947. She retired from the Dodge dealership, Ambridge, as a bookkeeper. Bea was a member of The Holy Family Parish in New Brighton, and loved singing in the choir. She was a volunteer at the New Brighton Soup Kitchen, and the Beaver County Humane Society. She appreciated nature, animals, flowers, traveling, wine, chocolate, the beach, music and the arts.
She was a long-time member of Merrick Art Gallery. She attended and enjoyed the functions that they offered. Bea’s passion growing up was raising horses. She owned several and enjoyed riding. She loved her dogs, from Great Danes to Chihuahuas. She was a wonderful pet sitter, always had love and treats! Bea lived out her life in Dawes Manor in New Brighton, in her lovely decorated apartment, she was happy, content, and had wonderful, kind neighbors and friends. A life well spent!

Mass celebrating Bernadette’s life is Friday July 7, 2023, at Our Lady of the Valley, Holy Family Parish, New Brighton, at 10:30.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The New Brighton Food Bank, Beaver County Humane Society or Merrick Art Gallery.
