Carol Beck Obituary

Carol N. (Miller) Beck, 62, of New Brighton, passed away unexpectedly Thursday May 26, 2022. Her absence was felt immediately and everyone is searching for how to go forward without her. She was born in New Brighton on July 2, 1959 the daughter of the late James O. and Jean A. (Baker) Miller.  She was raised in the New Brighton Free Methodist Church and recently attended the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver.

Carol worked many years at Sears, spending a majority of her 30+ year career in the Parts & Service Department where she loved serving “her” customers. Her most recent employment was for Pennsylvania Chemicals where she started as a flagger and up through Thursday, was one of the best damn Tool Room Attendants as testified to by her coworkers.  Over the years, she’s built amazing relationships with those she’s worked with and loved them like her own family. Carol was the most perfect example of what dedication, determination and hard work is supposed to look like.

The number of lives she’s touched in her lifetime is immeasurable. Loving, caring, giving – that is what Carol was. She would help anyone in an instant and was completely selfless without hesitation. She always made you feel like you were valued and unique. There wasn’t a day that passed where her happiness and joy didn’t pour over and spill out of her eyes in overwhelming happiness and gratitude. She was known to many as the favorite, the great one or simply the best!

Carol is survived by two sons, Justin Beck, New Brighton and Christopher Beck, VA, one daughter Elizabeth “Itty” (Chad) Rea, Beaver Falls and a daughter-in-law Vanessa Beck, New Brighton. She was the PROUD GRANDMA to Callie Jean Rea, Judah Tindell and soon to be born Elijah Tindell. She never hesitated to make sure that they knew they were the greatest part of her life and was proud to call them hers. Carol is also survived by her sisters Esther Hallas, Economy Boro, Jane Miller, New Brighton, Betty Staggs, Fairborn OH, sister-in-law Karen Miller, Sanford FL, and her friend and companion, Mark McHugh, Canonsburg, many cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother and father she was preceded in death by her brother Harry Miller and brothers-in-law Edward Hallas and Thomas Staggs.

Family and friends will be received Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 at the J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church Beaver at 252 College Avenue, Beaver PA 15009. A one hour visitation from 9-10am will be held at the church prior to the service. Her pastor, Reverend Jeff Arnold will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the Grove Cemetery, New Brighton.
