Charles L. “Chuck” Simmons III
Charles L. Simmons III, 67, of Brighton Township, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 20, 2021, after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
Born October 29, 1953, in New Brighton, a son of Marion Simmons and the late Charles L. Simmons II, Chuck retired from the Baierl Automotive Group, Wexford. He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley, Holy Family Parish, New Brighton and the Rochester Elks. Chuck enjoyed going to Mountaineer Race Track and always made sure he played his lottery tickets for the week. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed listening to oldies music.
In addition to his mother, Chuck will be sadly missed by his wife of 44 years, Janet “Jan” (Blaskowitz) Simmons; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles “Chuck” IV and Samantha, Ohioville; one daughter and son-in-law, Courtney and Jimmy Schwab, Englewood, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Anna, Cole, Cameron and Audrey Simmons and Jenna, Olivia and Ellie Schwab; two sisters, Linda Lesko, North Huntingdon, Pa. and Susan Kreuzer, Georgia; numerous cousins and a very special aunt and uncle, John and Karolee Loughhead.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Charles L. Simmons II, and several aunts and uncles.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton. Prayers will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial Thursday at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Valley, Holy Family Parish, New Brighton.
Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery.
