Charles "Chuck" A. Sabella

Charles “Chuck” A. Sabella, 66, of New Brighton, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023, at Heritage Valley, Beaver with his loving family at his side.

Born November 26, 1956, in New Brighton, he is the son of the late Peter D. and Joanne (Jewell) Sabella, Sr.  A dedicated astronomer, passionate gemologist, avid stamp collector, and devout member of Life Family Church, New Brighton, Chuck left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and a keen eye for the celestial wonders that grace our skies. His enthusiasm for astronomy was infectious, as he eagerly shared his wisdom with anyone that would be willing to listen.  Beyond the astral realms, Chuck was a connoisseur of gemology, with an exceptional talent for identifying and appreciating the intricate beauty of precious stones. His collection was a testament to his discerning eye and appreciation for the Earth's treasures. Whether exploring the depths of the world or the vastness of space, Chuck’s curiosity knew no bounds. Stamp collecting “Philately” was yet another passion that brought joy to his life. Each stamp held a story, and Chuck took pleasure in preserving and sharing these stories with others.  He was a member of the American Philatelic Society, Pennsylvania Postal History Society and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was also a member of Life Family Church, New Brighton where he faithfully attended even if he had to walk there.  Within the church, he was involved with Life Groups and the Men’s Fellowship.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an aunt, Judith Sabella and a cousin, Stephen Sabella.

Surviving are his son, Terrance Sabella and his mother, Melinda Kachinski; three brothers and sisters-in-law; Peter D. (Denise) Sabella, Jr., John M. (Janine) Sabella, Sr., Joseph D. (Kimberly) Sabella; Uncle Anthony “Tony” Sabella and Aunt Margaret “Peg” Sabella, Uncle Joseph E. Sabella, Aunt Marianne Fosnaught; several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Brighton.  Pastor Sam DeMarco, officiating.
