Edith Mae (Buchholz) Lenox

Edith Mae Lenox, 91, of Chippewa, passed away peacefully Monday, October 30, 2023, at her home. 

Born October 28, 1932, in Beaver Falls, she was a daughter of the late Frank R. and Irene (Miller) Buchholz.  She was a member of CUP Evangelical Presbyterian Church.  She was proud of her early nursing career including working as a public health visiting nurse.  Upon having a family, she retired from nursing and became a very active and involved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She loved traveling near and far with her husband, including the 17 years they organized family trips to the Outer Banks.  Edith enjoyed walking at Brady’s Run Park and later going to water aerobics at the Beaver County YMCA where she made many dear friends.

Surviving Edith are her daughters, Terri (Chuck Woratschek) Lenox, Rachel (Jerry) Mace, Paula (Chuck) Lenox, grandchildren, Jonathan (Allee) Vogler, Lyndsey (Nick) Strang, Christopher (Emily) Vogler, Eric (Laura Hebenstreit) Mace, Daniel (Catherine York) Mace, Emily (Henry Crochiere) Mace, great-grandchildren, Max Vogler, Trevor Vogler, June Edith Strang, and Lando Howard Strang, sister, Martha (Tom) Bock, and beloved nieces and nephew.

Along with her parents, Edith was predeceased by her husband Howard Lenox, sister Joanne Staff, and brother Frank Buchholz.

Friends will be welcomed Monday, November 27, 2023, from 1pm until the time of service at 2pm, in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3rd Ave., New Brighton, with Pastor Marc Shefelton officiating.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to caregivers Norma and Janet for their loving care of Edith and to her primary care physician, Dr Matthew Wright. 

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Edith’s name to Bags and Blessings, Twelve Loaves Soup Kitchen, or the charity of your choice.
