Eleanor LaRocca, 95, of Chicago, IL and formerly of New Brighton, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, February 27, 2021.
Born September 16, 1925, in New Brighton, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Sentak) McCarthy. She was a graduate of New Brighton High School where she was a proud cheerleader. A long-time member of St Joseph Catholic Church, she worked in the rectory office. In addition to being a great homemaker, she managed various retail clothing shops. Upon retirement, she relocated to Cincinnati, New Orleans and Cleveland to provide loving care to her grandchildren.
Surviving, are her son, Mike LaRocca, Chicago, IL, grandchildren, Amy (Doug) Carnahan, Riverside, IL, Mike (Kayla) LaRocca, Lexington, VA, and Frank (Rebecca) LaRocca, New Milford, CT; great-grandchildren, Juliette LaRocca, Truman and Shelby Carnahan.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John LaRocca Jr., sister, Gertrude Radcliff, and brother, Frank McCarthy.
Friends will be received Saturday from 9am until the time of prayer at 9:30, in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home. Followed by a Mass of Christian burial, at 10am, in the Holy Family Catholic Church, New Brighton, with Father Tom Kredel officiating.
Interment will follow at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
