Frank Michael Anderson Obituary

Frank Michael Anderson

A 42-year survivor of Leukemia, Frank Michael Anderson, 67, of Beaver Falls, Pa., passed away peacefully, at home, Saturday, November 26, 2022, after a 3-year battle with brain cancer.

Born November 14, 1955, in New Brighton, Pa., he is the son of Delores Anderson and the late Jack Anderson, Jr. Michael was a 1974 graduate of Beaver Falls High School and then went on to graduate from Penn State University and Kennedy Western University. He had a long career as a safety professional and was a member of The American Society of Safety Engineers. In 2019, Michael retired from Ametek Inc. as a Divisional Environmental Health and Safety Manager. Michael also enjoyed working as a WPIAL basketball referee for over 20years. In 2020, he was elected to the Beaver Falls Home Rule Charter Government Study Commission.

Over the course of his life, he was passionate about many hobbies. As an avid reader, Michael would never leave home without a book. He had a love of history, and was especiallyinterested in the Civil War. He was a devoted and ranked chess player, passing his love of chess to his children and grandchildren. He was also an accomplished marathon runner and cyclist. Michael had the biggest sweet tooth and loved to smoke cigars while relaxing on his porch swing. He enjoyed many travels with his family, but his favorite vacation spots were Las Vegas and Sandbridge Beach. Perhaps Michael was most proud of his 3 small bears and his 5 little cubs. Every time they spoke, he would always ask them “Did I tell you I love you today?”

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Jack Anderson, Jr., brother, Robert Dale Anderson, father and mother-in-law, William and Arla Borghi, brother-in-law, George Kramer.

Surviving is his loving wife of 45 years, Janice (Borghi) Anderson; children, Melissa and Jason Bidlack, Jenna and Shayan Sinha, Jack III and Leah Anderson; grandchildren, Abigale, Evelyn, and Logan Bidlack; Vir Sinha; and McKenna Anderson; mother, Delores Anderson; sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Mark Church, sister-in-law, Mary Beth Kramer; nephews, Matt, Brad, Doug, Matt, and Adam; numerous family members and close friends, especially cousins, Margaret and Johnnie Cypress, and Michael Borghi.

Friends will be received Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. in the J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton.  Additional viewing will be held in the funeral home on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.   Pastor, Donald W. MacNeil, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Carnegie Library, 1301 7th Ave, Beaver Falls, Pa 15010 or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 333 E. Carson Street #441E, Pittsburgh, Pa 15219.

Always remember – “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man that never reads only lives one.” Carry your book Michael, smoke your cigar… “Just keep at it”.
