Gaye E. (Drogus) Barber

Wife, Mother, daughter, grandmother and always the life of any gathering, Gaye Elaine Barber passed away peacefully on September 1, 2021. Gaye loved nothing more than jumping on the bike with Pappy and just going for rides. The simple things in life made her smile and she always knew how to make everyone near her feel warm and welcome. Her strength and grace through her tribulations are a goal for all to strive and her love will live through all that had the pleasure of knowing her. The size of her heart surpasses understanding and she opened her heart to such a large group of friends and family. She gave herself so freely and with such passion that she He came immediately cherished by all she met. Her unconditional love was for all who knew her and she was someone to laugh with, dance with and always love.
Gaye was preceded in death by her grandparents, Florence and Laurie Merriman; brother, Bobby Scott Drogus: daughter, Heather Renee Davis; her first husband, Gerald Keith Davis, father, John Weigel and Stepmother, Sherry Weigel.
Gaye is survived her husband, James Barber; parents, Nancy and Bob Drogus; two daughters, Karolyn (Lee) Leavelle, Jr., Andrea (David) Werner, grandchildren, Avalon Mascher, Lee Leavelle III, Bradyn McCall and Jevoughn Leavelle; two sisters, Raylene Weigel Boots, Jonica (Doug) Weigel Walters; brother, Chip Weigel, several nieces, nephews, and their families.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton. A Private family service will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Gary Hilton, officiating.
Cremation will follow all services and she will be laid to rest in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Twp.
