Gloria Moorehouse, 78, of New Brighton, passed away surrounded by family Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at home.
Gloria was born in Rochester on September 30, 1944, a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Evelyn (Graham) Spratley Sr. She was retired from Phoenix Glass, Anchor Hocking. She was a longtime member of the Rochester Owls and Turners. She loved the Steelers and Elvis, liked to fish, and camp, especially in Shenango. Enjoyed gambling and traveling to North Carolina to visit relatives.
Surviving is her children, Eileen Coberly, New Brighton, Robin Altenberg, Fallston, Buzzy Moorehouse, Freedom, and Carla (Tom) Vukich with whom she resided, grandchildren, Ray (Carrie) Ward, Tom (April) Coberly, Erica (Damian) Tacito, Amber (Devin) Mitsch, Chris Alexander, Nicole King, Corey Moorehouse, and Sierra (Matt) Szymoniac, great-grandchildren, Tim, Emily, Mikalia, Reese, Elijah, Wyatt, Alexa, Julian, Aleena, Jerimiah, Smarha, and Kayden, brother, Bill (Wendy) Spratley and special friends, Robert and Carol Henderson, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life for over 32 years, Frank J. Ross, and siblings, Mary Ann Zarilla, Isa Dora Spratley, Betty Corrigan, Marion Vogel, Sylvia Sanner, Evelyn Gussenhofen, Edith Davidson, Barbara Spooner, Robert Spratley Sr., Joseph Spratley Jr., Albert Spratley, George Spratley.
Friends are welcome Thursday, September 14, from 4pm to 7pm, at the J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3rd Ave. New Brighton, where a service will be held Friday at 11am, with Pastor Kevin Lee officiating.
Private interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton, following the service.
