Jack James Meier, 64, of New Brighton, Pennsylvania, passed away on July 16, 2023. Born on December 8, 1958, in New Brighton, Jack was the beloved son of Kathleen Meier and the late Jack Carl Meier. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman and Grace Meier, as well as his uncle and aunt, Ron and Eileen Meier.
Jack will be lovingly remembered for his vibrant personality and his many interests. He was an avid Batman fan and had the incredible opportunity to have his picture taken with Burt Ward and Adam West during a Comicon event. In the community of New Brighton, Jack was affectionately known as "the mayor of New Brighton." He had a kind heart and always paid his respects to families who had lost loved ones, regardless of whether they were close friends or acquaintances.
In his free time, Jack enjoyed collecting any Batman memorabilia he could find. He cherished his collection and took pride in sharing his passion with others. Jack also loved traveling and took every opportunity to explore new places. Additionally, he enjoyed swimming
Jack will be deeply missed by his surviving family members, including his mother, Kathleen Meier; his brother, Joseph Meier, and wife Nicky Meier his sister, Jamie Bowen; his sister, Julie Burnsworth, and wife Diane Scanlon; his nephews, Caden and Tyler Meier; Parrick Jones his nieces, Carly and Erin Burnsworth; his great nephew, Hayden Burnsworth, his great niece, Hailie Burnsworth; his special aunt, Patty Reed and former wife Shelly Meier.
A viewing will be held at J&J Spratt Funeral Home, located at 1612 3rd Ave in New Brighton, PA 15066 from noon until 7 p.m. services will take place on Sunday, July 23, 2023, 7 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Ashley and Jen from Great Samaritan Hospice, their caring and supportive skills were commendable, Dr. Rahim Remtulla from UPMC Hillman Cancer Center whose genuine compassion and empathy was instrumental in Jack’s battle with cancer. Finally, a special thank you to Diane Scanlon for supporting Jack during his treatment, providing rides for Jack while continuing her own battle with cancer when Julie was unable to.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in memory of Jack Meier. His dedication to helping others and his desire to make a difference will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
