James L. Young, 84, of New Brighton, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Rochester Manor.
Born August 15, 1938, in New Brighton, he is the son of the late Harold E. and Leona (Patterson) Young Barrow. Jim attended New Brighton Area School District. He was the owner of Jim’s Service Station for 50 years and worked at Mayer China and B&W in Beaver Falls. He was a life member of BPOE 348, retired member of N.B. Volunteer Fire Department, member of Happy Days Car Club and Beaver County Car Club, F&AM Union Lodge #259 of New Brighton for over 50 years. Jim was a member of New Brighton United Methodist Church.
Surviving is his loving wife of 65 years, Nancy L. (Krachinsky) Young; children, Cindy (Bob) Krut, Sandy (Paul) Stilp, Terry (Jim) Scobie, Bob Young; grandchildren, Jason (Rachel), Nicole, Thomas (Kayli); great grandchildren, Carson, Kayden, Harper, Holden; half-brother, Douglas E. (Joanne) Young.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton. Additional viewing will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Gary Hilton, officiating.
Private interment will follow in Beaver Falls Cemetery.
