Joan (Lemmon) Irwin, 85, of New Brighton, passed away Wednesday February 15, 2017 at the Villa St. Joseph, Baden.
Born September 13, 1931 in Dormont a daughter of the late James Wade and Edith Ethel (Grose) Lemmon. She was a retired employee of the New Brighton Area School District and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church of New Brighton.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Irwin, 1975, a son Terry Irwin, 1985 and a daughter-in-law Elizabeth Irwin in 1997.
Surviving are one son Bob Irwin, New Brighton, two daughters Kathy (Chuck) Nealen, Oak Ridge, NC and Margo Irwin Jannuzi, New Brighton, one granddaughter Mandi and her husband Dr. Gavin Mitchell, one grandson Steve Nealen, all of Charlotte, NC, former son-in-law Ralph Jannuzi, Patterson Heights, two brothers Don (Susan) Lemmon, Palatka, FL, Tom (Nanci) Lemmon, Beaver Falls, two sisters Lois Davie, Hopewell, Nancy Grisnik, New Brighton, many nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton, where prayer will be held Monday at 9:30am followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:00am in the Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Tom Kredel officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
The family is grateful to the staff of Villa St. Joseph and Dr. David Jansma for the excellent care given to their mother in the last years of her life.
