Joan Kosanovich, 82, of New Brighton, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022, at UPMC Mercy, Pittsburgh.
Born May 18, 1940, in New Brighton, she was a daughter of the late Joe “Jerome” and Hazel Marie (Hupp) Barnes. She was a longtime employee of the Geriatric Center. Her favorite places to go were Walmart or the casino. She liked to cook, clean, and fish. She will be remembered as a loving and caring woman who welcomed anybody, and was a good listener. She put her family first, didn’t want them to stress anything, and her family considered her their “rock.”
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kosanovich.
She leaves behind 5 children, Barbara Kosanovich (David McCune), East Liverpool, Frederick Kosanovich (Lori Sayres), Lori Eakles (Roy Eakles), Chuck Kosanovich (Ruth Kosanovich), Nancy Kosanovich (Jimmy Tice), all of New Brighton; grandchildren, Amber, Roy, Angela, Heather, and James; great-grandchildren, Jaxen, Nevaeh, Carsyn, Caitlyn, Deonte, James jr., Za’Kari, Scarlett, and soon to be born Rylee, brother, John Barnes (Doris), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
