Marc K. Braund

Marc Braund, 67, passed away peacefully Thursday February 4, 2021 in his home surrounded by his family.

Born October 23, 1953 in New Brighton, he was the son of the late R. Ivan and Loretta (Davis) Braund Jr.  He graduated in 1971 from Midland High School, where he made many of his lifelong friends.  He retired from Phoenix Glass in 2018. 

To fulfill his love for baseball, Marc spent his younger days coaching New Brighton youth and later began umpiring for local county leagues.  As he got older, he discovered his love for baking and participated in many local bake sales.

Surviving are one son, Matt (Jamie Kinney) Braund, one daughter, Rachel (Gene) Tabone, five grandchildren Anthony and Olivia Tabone, Sydney and Hannah Kinney and Mackenzee Dhayer, one brother Gregg (Maureen) Braund, and former wife and forever friend Teri Braund.

The family would like to thank Mother Theresa Hospice for their love and care during Marc’s final months.

To celebrate Marc’s love of all things Pittsburgh, the family asks that you wear your favorite Pittsburgh gear to the viewing and service.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 on Monday with a service on Tuesday at 11am

in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton.
