Michael Labasik IV


Michael Labasik IV, 50, of New Brighton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 4, 2018, after an 11 month courageous battle with brain cancer.
Born November 12, 1967, in Beaver Falls, Pa., he is the son of Michael Labasik III and the late Cindy (Whippo) Labasik.  Mike graduated from New Brighton High School, Class of '86.  After graduation he attended Slippery Rock University where he earned a B.S. in Occupational Health and Safety.   Mike worked for Verizon Wireless before he became sole proprietor of Oak Hill Kettle Corn and Oak Hill Pizza Company.  Mike's vending was much more than a career, it was his outlet for adventuring to new places and hanging out with the people he loved the most.  Mike found joy in the little things and turned each situation into cause for celebration.  His passion for life will be most strongly remembered when sitting by the ocean, feet in the sand, his favorite place to spend his days.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his loving wife, Lynne (Dwyer) Labasik; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Jordan) Labasik V, Virginia; a daughter, Sarah Labasik, at home; a sister and brother-in-law, Missy (Dan) O'Neil, Brighton Twp.; grandchildren, Aliyah and Michael Labasik VI; beloved nieces and nephews, Katie, Erin, Rachel, Tanner, Abbie, Josh, Zach, Jess and Nicholas; mother and father-in-law, Robert (Barbara) Dwyer, New Brighton; and his faithful companion and family dog, Baxter.
Friends will be received Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. in the Church of the Nazarene, 432 Penn Ave., New Brighton. Additional viewing will be held in the church Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Twp.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in Sarah's name to First National Bank, 747 Corporation Street, Beaver, PA 15009 for assistance in pursing her nursing degree.
