Nancy Lynn (Cumpston) Moore of South Beaver Twp., Pa., died peacefully on Friday August 18, 2023, surrounded by her Loving family.
She was born in Cameron, West Virginia on September 26, 1938 and is the daughter of the late Russell Glenn Cumpston, Sr. and Freda Lucille (Grandon) Cumpston.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law; Lucille (Richard) Bartrug, Barton, W. Va., brother, Russell Glenn Cumpston, Cumberland, MD., brothers-in-law, Jerry Hanshue, Louisville, KY., Earl Wayne Cosgray, Burton, W. Va., Junior Stewart, Burton, W. VA
She is survived by her husband, Billie Lee Moore whom she was married to for 64 years of South Beaver Twp., her children, Donald Glenn Moore of South Beaver Twp., David William Moore of Landis, North Carolina, Linda Diane (John) Yenges, Brighton, Twp., Leigh Ann (David) Hartung, Horn Lake, MS; her loving grandchildren, Diana “Nikki” (Kyle) Matuszek, Cincinnati, OH., Chad Eric Davies, Jacksonville, N.C., Shane David Moore, Rochester, Pa., her precious great-grandchildren, Kendall Grace Matuszek, Cincinnati, OH., Hunter Adam Moore, Rochester, Pa, ., numerous nieces, nephews and many great nieces, nephews whom she loved dearly.
She is the “7th” of 9 children, surviving siblings, Linda Susan (Terry) Bowman, Washington, PA, Charles Cumpston, Fort Lee, NJ, Janice Cumpston, Washington, PA, Rene Hanshue, Louisville, KY, Betty Stewart, Burton, W. Va., George Cumpston, Cameron, W. Va., and sister-in-law, Helen (Phillips) Cumpston, Cumberland, MD.
Nancy graduated from Hundred High School in W. Va. She worked as a telephone operator for Columbia Gas, a homemaker, secretary of Wagnor Oil in Darlington Twp., and finally to fill her spare time at Brady’s Run Farm Market in New Brighton, PA. She loved reading and gardening with flowers and plants. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and attending their sporting events and other activities.
Friends will be received Monday from 4 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at 7pm, in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3rd Ave, New Brighton. Her brother-in-law, Pastor Albert Lynn Moore, officiating.
She will be laid to rest at Beaver Cemetery.
