Raymond Floyd Wood Jr., 73, passed away, Monday, April 3, 2023, at his home in New Castle.
Born on February 4, 1950, in New Brighton, Ray was a son of the late Raymond F. “Mike” and Alice (Hinzman) Wood Sr. He was a retired track laborer with the P & LE Railroad. He was a train enthusiast who enjoyed going to train shows, collecting trains, and he was a member of the Beaver/Lawrence Railway Society. Ray was also a culinary school graduate and spent time as a chef at Allegheny Country Club in Sewickley. He was Catholic by faith and was a former member of the former Holy Family Catholic Church, New Brighton.
Ray is survived by his siblings, Susan (Francis) Mathews, Beaver Falls, and Jeff Wood, Ambridge, as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, and his wife, Debra Rush Wood.
Visitation will be held Monday from 10am until the time of the Blessing Service at 12pm, in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3rd Ave, New Brighton.
Private interment will take place at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
