Ronald Ramer Obituary

 Ronald Robert Ramer, Sr, 76, of Daugherty Twp. passed on May 30,2020 at Good Samaritan Beaver after a courageous nine-year battle with dementia.

Born August 26, 1943 a son of the late George Kurash Sr and Thelma (Bollman) Kurash. He was a graduate of Ambridge Area High School.  Ron proudly served his country for 3 years in the Army. Ron especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities and was very proud of their accomplishments, He worked at Nova Chemical for 25 years as a chemical technician. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and competitive archery.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Raymond Kurash and beloved sister Marilyn Kurash-Huber.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Deborah (Veon), a son Ronald Jr (Melissa), and Mark Sr (Stephanie), all of Brighton Township.  Also survived by his grandchildren Avery Ziarko, Bryce, Mark Jr, and Mya Ramer.  Ron is also survived by his brothers Earl Ramer, George (Antoinette) Kurash and Ken Kurash, Brother-in-laws Bill (Janet) Veon and Richard Veon and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Prendergast and his staff, Anova and especially Tina, the staff at Elmcroft, and finally the caring staff at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver.

Following the CDC Guidelines, 25 visitors at a time may pay their respects at the viewing.  The family encourages you to wear a mask and be patient while you wait to pay your respects.

The funeral service will be private but we will be streaming the funeral service through FaceBook live.

Members of the VVA #862 are asked to meet at Sts. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Parish, at 10:30am Thursday, to perform military honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ron’s name to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
