Rosemary Catherine Smolar, a life-long resident of Beaver Falls, passed away September 23, 2023, due to complications from Diabetes.
Born January 5, 1952, Rosemary attended the DePaul Institute for the Deaf and graduated from Quigley High School, class of 1970. Rosemary was employed for many years by SCT and the county of Beaver at the Beaver County Courthouse. She retired in 2016. Rosemary had many friends in the deaf community and greatly enjoyed socializing with them.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, John T. and Mary K. Smolar, Uncle Rudy Smolar and numerous other relatives.
Surviving is her brothers, Peter (Kathy) Smolar of Tucson, AZ., John (Pattie) Smolar of South Beaver, Pa., and her nephews, Peter, Christopher and Timothy Smolar.
As per Rosemary’s wishes, there will be no visitation.
A Blessing service will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 12 p.m. in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park mausoleum. She will be laid to rest with her parents.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to the DePaul School of Hearing and Speech, 6202 Adler Street, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15206 or the American Diabetes Association.
The family would like to thank Franciscan Manor, Heritage Valley, Beaver, Good Samaritan Hospice, and Concordia, Villa St. Joseph for caring for Rosemary in her final Days.
