Steven R. Stramella, 73, of New Brighton, passed away Tuesday June 25, 2019 at Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born January 15, 1946 in Ellwood City a son of the late Stephen and Jean (Hardy) Stramella. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was a retired police chief with the New Brighton Police Department. Steve was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, the Oak Hill Vets, the American Legion, Post #19 all of New Brighton and the F.O.B. Beaver Valley, #4.
Surviving are his wife of 21 years Kathy (Pfleghar) Stramella, two sons Robert Stramella, MI, Michael (Dawn) Stramella, Carrick, one daughter Susan (Mike) Stramella, Ellwood City, four grandchildren Carly, Derek, Maggie and Maddox, one brother Bill (Debbie) Stramella, FL,
Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton, where prayer will be held Saturday at 9:30am followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:00am in the Holy Family Catholic Church.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
Members of V.V.A. #862 will meet Saturday at 10:30am in the cemetery to provide full military honors.
The family would like to thank the C.C.U. team for their compassionate care given to Steve.
