Valerie Lynn (Lundberg) Sayre

Valerie “Val” Lynn Sayre, 60, of Freedom, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023, in her home with her loving husband of nearly 25 years, Tom, at her side.

Born November 22, 1962, in Indiana, PA, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Elvira (Langham) Lundberg.  She was a graduate of Freedom High School’s class of 1981.

Val was a prolific cook and baker; she made fantastic lasagna and countless wonderful sweets. She enjoyed the outdoors, never shying away from camping, kayaking, or fishing. She was an avid gardener who took immense pride in the expansive flower garden she worked hard to cultivate around her home and the beautiful waterscape she and Tom built together. A resourceful housewife and mother, Val delighted her family and friends with her enviable talents, and she will be dearly missed.

Surviving is her husband Tom Sayre, sons Jacob Dapper, Jeremy (Jenn) Sayre, brother, Russ (Susan) Lundberg, niece Dr. Melissa "Missy" (Sean) Rutherford and their children Silas and Marley, nephew Chris Lundberg, as well as many relatives.

Valerie was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, John and Darren Lundberg.

Friends will be received Saturday, July 15 from 4-7PM, in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3rd Ave. New Brighton, followed by a Memorial Service at 7PM, with Pastor Donald MacNeil officiating.
