Veto L. Colao, 85, of Beaver Falls, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April, 3, 2022, at his residence.
Veto was a son of the late Lawrence O. and Rose (DiTommaso) Colao, born September 10, 1936. He graduated in 1954 from Lincoln High School. After graduation he enlisted in the US Airforce serving in the Philippines. Veto was employed by the Townsend Plant in New Brighton, and retired from Big Beaver Falls Area School District. He was a volunteer firefighter for the city of Beaver Falls, and a member of the Beaver Falls Owl’s Club. He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish (Holy Family Church).
Veto will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Anna Marie (Cantelmi) Colao, Beaver Falls, children, Christine and Christopher “Goo” Swick, Ellwood City, Antoinette “Toni” and Gregory Krut, New Brighton, and Victoria and Mark Salansky, Beaver Falls, grandchildren, Alicia Swick, and Bethany Krut, step-grandchildren and spouses, Shannon (Justin) Geisse, Shane (Abby) Griffith, Shawna (Kevin) Shanahan, step-great-grandchildren, Savannah, Justin Jr., Temperance, and Allison; brother, Nick and Rosetta Colao, Ellwood City, brother-in-law, James “Jocko” Recce, sister-in-law, Frances Cantelmi, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jo Recce, 2 sisters-in-law, Ingrid Colao and Susan Cantelmi, 2 brothers-in-law, Ralph and Anthony Cantelmi.
Friends will be received Friday, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm and Saturday, from 9 until the time of prayers at 9:30, in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3rd Ave, New Brighton, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10am, in Our Lady of the Valley Church, (Holy Family) New Brighton.
Interment will follow at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
