In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife Marcella, mother and father-in-law Charles and Syvilla Jolley, brothers Robert (Rabbits) and Jack, his sisters-in-law, and his brothers-in-law.

Surviving is his son, Wm. (Karen) Barnes Jr., New Brighton; daughter, Cindy (Bob) Frank, Freedom; grandchildren, Joseph, Kristin, and Jacob Barnes, Merissa (Sean) O’Reilly and Emily (Jay) Frank; step-granddaughter Sandra Wakeley; step great-granddaughter, Audrey Wakeley; two sisters Janet Felo, Freedom; Carole Kirschler, Allison Park; sister-in-law, Claudette Jolley, Coudersport; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.

Bill was a retired coupling inspector at Armco.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW and Legion.  He was an avid outdoorsman.  Bill enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing at his camp.  He was a prize-winning gardener and won many ribbons entering his fruit, vegetables, jelly, and maple syrup at the Big Knob Fair.  Bill was a man of many talents.  He loved cutting grass, birding, relocating snakes, listening to music, and spending time with his grandchildren and family.  As Dad would always say, have a shot and a beer.
